Shape and Share Drum Performances Like Never Before

The Yamaha EAD10 is a revolutionary new way to mic, record, and share drum performances with the world. In mere seconds, capture a drum kit just as you hear it in the room, or access hundreds of scenes (presets) with hi-res digital samples and FX. Once you've got sounds dialed in, sharing is easy. Dual 1/4" outputs route the stereo drum mix to any standard interface for fuss-free pickup. USB and aux inputs let you jam along to music on your phone or flash drive, saving the mixed song and performance to the internal hard drive or a connected laptop. You can even use the free Yamaha Rec'n'Share app to sync video from your phone and audio from the EAD10 for picture-perfect drum covers that are ready to share.

Set up in seconds

The two-in-one kick sensor/stereo microphone system mounts quickly to the batter-side hoop of your bass drum to capture kick, snare, toms and cymbals just as you hear them in the room. Add a snare trigger like the Yamaha DT50S (not included) for even greater versatility. Once installed, use the EAD10 module to browse 50 preset scenes, 757 sounds, and 36 digital effects and blend to taste. With 200 user preset scenes, you can easily map out a custom kit for every song in your set.

Drum covers done quick

Just ask our friend Casey Cooper (COOP3RDRUMM3R) what it takes to record drum videos. You're looking at thousands of dollars in microphones, stands, and camera equipment, not to mention the learning curve of setting it up and using it all. The Yamaha EAD10 Rec'n'Share app eliminates cost and hassle by injecting your phone video with awe-inspiring drum audio. It all happens on the fly: pick songs from your iOS music library, find the sound you're after, and point and shoot. The app syncs audio and video together for a performance that's easy to share with friends, bandmates, and video services like YouTube.

Streamlined practice

Wrestling with a particularly difficult song section? Looking to maximize your practice time? The Yamaha EAD10 can beat- and tempo-analyze songs on the way in and serve you a click for more effective practice. Not only that, it can also loop portions of songs or slow them down until you get up to performance speed. Take it from Sweetwater: this function alone is well worth the EAD10's price of admission.

Great for intermediate and beginner drummers!

Short version: if you're looking for something to create videos online with, practice, or play some small gigs. Get it. You'll love it.
Long version: it's great. The kick trigger works as expected. It does not come with a stand to mount onto the side of a hi-hat stand. It is not required, but I found it helpful. I use this mic for YouTube covers, as well as twitch streaming. It works great for both of those uses. It plugs directly into my computer, and after installing new drivers, which may vary for your usage, it worked flawlessly. I love that you can customize every single present scene, and how you can make your own. It needs a USB-B to USB-A cable (aka a printer cable) to plug into a computer, as well as a lightning/usb-c to usb-a adapter to use it with your phone. For live settings, it's a microphone. It will pick up just about everything on stage, however the drums will be the most prominent.
If you're looking to make videos, livestream, or do anything of that sort without breaking the bank, yes. You will love it. In total for everything I needed for it to work properly, I spent right around $700.

Yamaha EAD10 is a Game Changer!

This device is absolutely fantastic. It makes your acoustic kit sound like a hybrid acoustic/electronic kit. It has become a great practice tool for me. It really forces you to be creative with your playing as you have to play to the "sound" you hear. Not all fills and beats apply so you're forced to really listen and be more musical. I love the built in metronome and the ability to record right into the device. The icing on the cake is the Yamaha app that lets you record video and automatically syncs your audio so no computer is ever needed. The app will even match a metronome to any song which is really cool and it does so much more. Watch my video review to hear all the preset sounds that come with it. In my opinion, every drummer should own one of these.

EAD10

Absolutely awesome! Now I will admit. I may be biased. I have bought quite a bit,of new drum gear, from Sweetwater lately. Started this past Christmas. Took advantage,of some Black Friday/ cyber Monday sales. Wasn't familiar, with Sweetwater, before that. But they were Johnny,on the spot. Especially when it came,to deliveries. And product information. They assigned what they called a "sales engineer ",to me. Which admittedly,I considered,to be nonsense,at first. "Sales engineer "? Ha! What a made up position. But. Hold on. I don't say this often. But I was wrong. Very wrong. This guy would email me,at every stage,of the game. Ok. They just put it,in the box. Or ok. They just put it,on the truck. It's,in Memphis now. Not joking. Or exaggerating. Should be,to you,in two days. One day. And so on. But the EAD? Yes. I am no pro. I have been playing, for 40 years tho. Not professionally. But still. I am retired now. And somewhat disabled. HD a stroke. Was an electrician. But that gives me a lot,of free time. So I started upgrading my old set. Then bought this EAD10. Now I'm no pro. But even I was able,to take it,out out, of the box. And pretty quickly start playing. I did watch some Nick Divirgilio videos, from Seeetwater, who's name I probably just butchered. And my name is Valenti. lol. So yes. I say,if you're a hobbies like me. Or a professional. Like my father was. A professional trumpet player here in NewOrleans. Sweetwater and the EAD10 are better than you may think. Check out both.
