Double Duty Beauty

This stand is heavy and stable! This stand holds my 20" ride and 12" rack tom with ease! Both pieces are
exactly where I need them to be. Now, all my toms are off of the bass drum and the ride cymbal just above it! Tama Star Series hardware will give DW a run for the money.

Tama

This is a must have in terms of durability. Very heavy weighted stand that works for any Tama series kit for your toms, even if it's an older model (any discontinued Tama kit). If you're a drummer who likes to smash a lot, then this is what you need. It sits still and it doesn't move. If you have any high end Tama kit (Starclassic or Star Series) that has the built in memory lock on the toms, they"ll definitely stay positioed, otherwise you'll have to purchase some because it doesn't come with it which is why I gave it a 4.5, but no complaints at all.

Tom and cymbal stand

Would have given a 5 star rating ,but the l arm is too thin for the Ludwig mount. I used Teflon pipe tape and rapped a little around the l clamp and that did the trick.

Good stand, but expensive and missing probably the most essential memory lock

I love Tama Star stands. Super heavy duty, robust, stable, etc. What is nice about this stand is that you can make it lean back a little, with the double wingnut setup in the feet. This allows you to make the feet hug your snare stand, bass drum and hihat stand for efficient floor use, while allowing the stand to lean out a bit for clearance for the cymbal and tom. The stand also comes with *almost* every necessary memory lock, the excellent Tama cymbal wingnut plastic clip replacement and their true-ring (or whatever they're called) felts. Did I mention heavy duty? This thing just stands like a house.

But I can only give this stand 4 stars.Very very surprising that Tama chooses to NOT provide an L-rod memory lock on all their Star series tom stands. This combination stand is probably the most expensive cymbal stand that is not a rack or hihat stand, so I don't understand skimping on such a useful item, especially since every other limb part of the stand has a memory lock.

It's still a great stand, but if you don't need the stand leaning back, get the regular Tama Star boom stand, plus their MC69 tom mount clamp. That clamp comes with the ML11 10.5mm memory lock, funny enough. If you're interested in this one, just make sure to pick up a 10.5mm memory lock as well.
